What is your turnaround time?

All packages have a 6-8 week turnaround time. This includes both your film and photos which are typically sent out together. During school holidays, there may potentially be an additional two week wait.

How many births do you book per month?

Only two, it is very important to me that I’m able to give my birth clients my undivided attention. I’ve documented up to eight births in one month during my busiest seasion, but two is the perfect sweet spot.

Where should we do our photoshoot?

I love working in my clients homes, or having them choose a beach, bush or field location North of the river. While I most certainly can travel (I have gone as far as Denmark), this may potentially include a travel fee. My favourite places to work are Perry’s Paddock, Mullaloo beach & Bells Rapids.

What do you do if you miss a birth?

Babies can have their own plans, and I’ve had a few speedy ones in my time. I document from the second I arrive, so I’m still able to capture the magic from the moment I get to you. Communication is incredibly important and I always let my clients know I’d rather you call me too much! I ensure during my arrival post birth that I’m able to film and photograph as much to hand over as I would for any other birth.

Do you do studio sessions?

I occasionally hire studios but in general I tend to work from an outdoor location or inside your home.

What happens if I have a caesarean?

I’ve documented caesarean births in the past at all major hospitals, except for KEMH. In the event I am not allowed through, I set my camera to auto and hand over my equiptment to either dad or midwife. There’s usually someone more than happy to snap away and I’ve had some incredible results from novice dads! I would have captured pre-birth and then simply continue as I would once you return to your room, those first few snuggles and baby being weighed is still just as magical and important to capture either way, perhaps even more so if your birth went different to how you planned.
